I wanted to create pieces that evoke a sense of Caribbean royalty- earcuffs that, when worn, elevate Afro- Antillean pride in a delicate yet commanding way.

With this intention I drew inspiration from the Yoruba deity Ajé, associated with the riches of the earth. Ajé- meaning shell or world depending on the context- is a central and indispensable element in Afro-Cuban Yoruba culture.

These earcuffs are a tribute to femininity and its power.
