“Balcón de titi” is part of “La Urba” collection, this piece draws inspiration from the ornamental gates and balconies found throughout neighborhoods in Puerto Rico and across the Caribbean. Its design is based on Adinkra heritage, which remains woven into the everyday architecture of our barrios. 

Balcón de titi is rooted in the memory of visiting aunts, grandparents, and relatives whose homes were framed by ornamental ironwork. The patterns woven into gates, balconies, and entryways became such a familiar part of the neighborhood landscape that they often went unnoticed. This piece revisits those everyday details, bringing attention to the beauty and cultural significance embedded within them.

It is a tribute to the ironwork that has witnessed generations of conversations, gatherings, and ways of life rooted in the neighborhood.
