While creating these earrings, I imagined three fairies gathered together, fluttering as they sang an invocation to bring the flamboyán tree into existence. Each figure carries a Swarovski crystal on its head in the vibrant tones of the flamboyán flower, as if every note they sing distills pigment, giving color and life to the tree.

Canto del Flamboyán pays homage to this tree which, although not native to Puerto Rico, holds a central place in the archipelago’s jíbaro and popular culture, becoming a symbol of memory, belonging, and shared beauty.
