I wanted to create a statement piece that places the censorship of the female nipple into context. Using bronze wire, I shaped a miniature sculpture accented with Swarovski crystals that emulate the Montgomery glands. Free the Nipple brooch is intentionally designed to evoke a sense of empowerment and to offer a form of symbolic freedom. inviting dialogue and reflection around the body, perception, and autonomy.
